Regulation Authority:

Chapters 42-17.1, 42-17.6, 20-1-2, 20-1-4, 20-3-2 thru 20-3-6, 20-4 thru 20-10, and in accordance with 42-35-18(b)(5), of the Rhode Island General Laws of 1956, as amended.

Purpose and Reason:

The purpose of this filing is to increase the possession limits for the general category commercial scup fishery and the commercial scup floating fish trap fishery to 8,000 lbs/vessel/calendar day, to adjust the commercial possession limit for summer flounder to 600 lbs/vessel/calendar day, and end the summer flounder aggregate landing program, to decrease the commercial possession limit for black sea bass to 50 lbs/vessel/calendar day, and close both the commercial striped bass floating fish trap and the commercial menhaden fisheries.
